It will therefore be used as teaching material in schools. Cairo is not only a psychological journey but a beautiful one. Through poignant illustrations, readers will get a sense of Egyptian geography. The intention is for readers through words and ethereal feeling illustrations to get a sense of peace. It can be transformative and healing for a young reader. Simply, this is a very important and very beautiful book for children.

About the Author


Jane Braithwaite has worked in the field of psychology since 1988. She has a background in writing for Independent film, television and Theatre projects. Dr. B. Anston, a retired psychiatrist is father to Jane. He grew up in Cairo and has served as consultant on this project.

Sylvia Vincelette has been an artist her whole life. She specializes in portraits. Cairo is her first illustration of a book. She works and resides in Montreal, Quebec.
