Christian Development and Maturation

by Rev M S Johnson

118 pages; quality trade paperback (softcover); catalogue #06-1586; ISBN 1-4120-9830-0; US$12.16, C$13.98, EUR9.99, £6.99

This book is intended to strengthen and encourage you to step out in faith for God. I hope you enjoy reading this book as much as I have enjoyed writing.

About the Book

The purpose of writing this book Christian Development and Maturation is to share my own personal experience of conversion from sin and of the living of the Christian life in the service of the Lord Jesus Christ since 1956 unto this present time and to show my readers that the Christian life can be lived in peace with God as well as with our fellow men in a new dimension through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, who nurtured the believer to grow and thrive in abundant living in Christ into everlasting existence.

John 3:16 tells us "that God so loved the world that He sent his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life".

The reader will realise that in order to have this assurance of everlasting life in Christ he or she must first confess and repent of their sins and accept God's plan of salvation and his promise of the Holy Spirit who sustained the believer in righteous and holy living for those who are saved from sin.

The reader will also find 9 chapters written in this book well tailored to help those who desired to know Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord and to develop a living relationship with Him and to go on to know Him better day by day.

There is no greater joy on earth than having Christ in one's life and building a relationship with The King of Kings.

About the Author

Melford S Johnson is an ordained minister of the New Testament Church of God for over 40 years in the UK.

He was born in the Caribbean island of Jamaica on the 7th March 1920 of west Indians parents, schooled and reared in Jamaica where he spent the first 39 years of his life before migrating to the UK in October 1959.

He is married and has a family of seven children, four sons and three daughters, his wife Elfreda is also a devoted Christian and the family all lives in the UK. There are also twelve grand children and six great grand children.

He is retired from full time ministry but still active in ministry work, where possible and hope to continue in this post as long as he is able to get around.

Revd Johnson had a vision for writing a book for almost all of his Christian life, but his dreams suffered a lot of setbacks, nevertheless, he believed that he were called of God to make his contribution in writing about Christian Development and Maturation and were determined to fulfil his purpose, even if it takes his entire lifetime to do it.

The last five years say some lights peeping out through the canals but progress has been very slow, nevertheless as long as there is a will there will always be a way.

Finally 2006 brought the greatest sign of break through but not without its share of set backs, before two sisters of the church came along and with very short notice volunteered to complete the manuscript and get it ready for the publisher, making it possible for this precious book to be in the hand of readers who I am confident will find it practical for this time in the history of the Christian church.

Thanks to all who made contributions one way or another in prayers or other ways to make this book a success in the lives of those who need it most. God bless you all.
