A Little Book of Bee Poems
by Rusty Wise
22 pages; Saddle stitched; contains colour images; catalogue #06-1712; ISBN 1-4120-9955-2; US$10.96, C$12.60, EUR9.00, £6.30
A colorful little poetry book, simple to read poems closer to Nursery Rhymes than Shakespearean Sonnets.
About the Book
A simple, easy to read, and interesting book of poems about the little insects in my charge, who work so hard for me, producing a lovely natural product - HONEY, and who I in turn, care for to the best of my ability. Many aspects of beekeeping have inspired me to write these poems, none of which are hard or complicated to read, but hopefully enjoyable entertaining and informative. I have tried to lace the poems with a touch of pathos, love and respect for a creature that literally works itself to death producing one of nature's most nutritious and health giving food. There is no complexity in these poems, they are not heavily engineered and brilliantly clever, but they should trip off the tongue with ease, having been written with enjoyment only in mind.
