About the Book

Revisit the world of Coomacka Island as Anansi Jr., the great-great-great grandson of legendary trickster Anansi Spider, learns a lesson in true friendship.

Coomacka Island is a mysterious uncharted island (meaning that you won't find this island on any map) in the Caribbean Sea. Four unlikely explorers stumbled on to this wondrous island while searching for the legendary Macka Tree. Anansi Jr and the Mango Truck is but one of many stories that the explorers documented on their travels through Coomacka Island.

About the Author

Darnel Degand and Don P. Hooper, both born of West Indian heritage, were classmates at the University of Pennsylvania during the late 1990s. Uniting their talents, they worked together on several projects inside and outside the classroom.

The inspiration for Coomacka Island originated shortly thereafter. Don and Darnel sought to expose the world to the wonders of the Caribbean by creating new folktales that could be passed down from generation to generation.

Darnel is a multimedia designer currently residing in Queens, NY. Don is a writer and voice over talent currently residing in Brooklyn, NY.

Coomacka Island: Anansi Jr and the Mango Truck is the second story in the Coomacka Island Series. Coomacka Island: The Story of Spider & Ant is also available from Trafford Publishing. For more information please visit www.coomacka.com or email info@coomacka.com
