Magical story for 4-8 year olds. Lonely Moon longs for change. Will her dream to be blue for a day change the order of the Universe?

About the Book

A story about the Moon lonely and isolated stuck up in the sky. Looking at the beautiful blue ocean she dreams of becoming blue just for one day. Longing to give children fun she compares her situation alone, with that of the sea where children play and laugh.

Her tears upset the order of the universe. The clouds should make it rain, not Moon tears. This is a key theme of the book. Fluffy the spokesperson for the clouds decides to take action. She calls on Mercury the ‘Messenger of the Universe’ to help moon, although a bit scared of the all-powerful Mercury, explains her dilemma. Mercury points out that without her there would be chaos in the Universe. She has a very important role, controlling the tides and providing light for nighttime travelers.

Moon is amazed, but still longs to become blue for a day. Mercury knows the solution must lie with the Sun. He asks the Sun for his help. The mighty Sun at first thinks the idea of the Moon becoming blue is crazy, nut, a kind-hearted fellow, he soon comes up with a solution.

He asks the all-powerful Mercury to arrange a total eclipse of the Moon so that she can be hidden behind him for a day.

A beautiful new blue lake appears suddenly on earth. Children, splash and play happily in the water all day long. The Moon is happy, her dream has come true. No one knows that the Lake is really Moon in disguise.

The next night all is as before. Moon shines happily in the sky remembering her magical day and Mercury and Fluffy are relieved. Once again there is order in the Universe.
