About the Book About the Author Excerpts About the Book
"Hang on to your dream." An imperative to Shannon Krueger as she discovered how much she enjoyed conducting. To be a conductor of a symphonic orchestra became the goal which she pursued relentlessly reaching for the ultimate achievement of having her own orchestra.
Being a convert pianist came naturally and by the time she was a sophomore in high school she was recognized as one of the best. Piano became a "natural" and she found herself in demand playing for fun or accompanying a soloist with unusual accompanying skills. She was offered a scholarship to Juilliard School of Music without even applying.
Conducting and composing was her dream which she pursued for four years after graduating with a bachelors degree in music. North Texas State University and the American Symphonic Orchestra League gave her training and experience. No big orchestra offered her a job and she accepted a call to be Minister of Music at one of her favorite churches. After three years of fun and satisfying accomplilshments with the church, she was offered the position of conductor at the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra; she reached the fulfillment of her dream. IT came along with romance for which she had not had time for until Eddie came into her life. Their brief courtship and nontraditional wedding could make two storybooks of love and admiration. A boy and a girl made the family complete.
Did everything go Shannon's way?
No. She was blessed with talent and a personality that was fulfilling and blessed her as she hung on to her dream.
Tragedy marked Shannon's Middle School years as her Daddy was suddenly killed as the Thunderbird formation he loved to fly with crashed and all members of the crews were killed. She, her sister and mother brought their lives together giving Shannon the foundation which helped to make her the extraordinary woman she became.
