Stefanie Gershuny and Amy Miller live in Armonk, New York with their families. They were both elementary school teachers and each has a passion for reading and collecting children's literature. Reading to their students as well as their own children inspired them to write a children's book of their own. The goal was to create a book that can be used to help children learn how to make new friends and feel comfortable in new situations. While discussing these common concerns with their students and own children the seed of their book was planted and the journey to create What Will I Do When I'm New at the Zoo? began.
