Meet Sandy Gull is a rhyming picture book about a cocky seagull who spends the day on the beach with a boy named Mickey and learns a lesson in friendship.

About the Book
Meet Sandy Gull is a rhyming picture book about a self-assured if not cocky seagull who prides himself on being a bit of a rascal! Sandy spends a day on the beach with his new friend, a young boy named Mickey. He shares his philosophies of life near the sea, particularly his love of food. In Sandy’s enthusiasm for treats he gets himself into a bit of a bad situation when he attempts to steal a bag of potato chips from a sleeping sunbather. Mickey makes it clear that he cannot remain friends with anyone who would steal and Sandy learns his new friendship is important to him. A “lucky feather” for your little inspiration is included in the back of each book.
About the Author and Illustrator
Mary Staller was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, but always dreamed of living near the beach in the warm sunshine of Florida. She recently moved to the beautiful town of Dunedin, Florida, and opened her shop, Sandy Gull’s Sweets on the town’s popular Main Street. While relaxing by the water in her beach chair one day, Mary watched the rascally antics of a seagull and the story Meet Sandy Gull emerged. This book is the first in four book series. The little Mickey character was inspired by her grandson Michael, who makes her smile every minute they’re together! A “lucky feather” for your little inspiration is included in each book.
