The Case for Prim & Prop

by Sylinthia Baker

20 pages; Saddle stitched; contains colour illustrations; catalogue #06-2095; ISBN 1-4251-0338-3; US$9.50, C$10.93, EUR7.80, £5.46

Prim and Prop: smart, polite, resourceful, super-heroines against terrorism.

About the Book

“You girls have powers unheard of, outside of comic books.”
“Daddy, you keep telling us all this stuff, but not telling us anything.” Brenna said. “You’re scaring me.”
“You just filtered a pool of the most toxic microbial contaminant known. Your nose is burning since you can detect over fifty different compounds used to make bombs and explosive devices.”

Brenna (Prim) and Yolanda (Prop), first cousins, accidently trigger a top secret experiment. They seem to morph from typical teenagers into super heroines. Yolanda begins with electro-magnetic powers that resemble a taser. Brenna develops the ability to temporarily paralyze her assailants. Together, they can filter toxic chemicals, detect explosives, and counter terrorism tactics. Brenna and Yolanda will get more powerful as they mature.

Both share a secret, loss or disappearance of loved ones, and a curiosity about their foes, which motivate them to fight back. They must determine whether or not they are super-heroines, and if so, what are they willing to give up.
