About the Book

This book followed a family's emotional struggle with losing their beloved Boxer to cancer. It is told by the main character, Moreover the dog, and shows a positive ending to his earthly life bringing comfort and healing to the family who loved him.

About the Author

As a family services counselor for a local funeral home in Louisiana, Dr, Westerfield observed several children who had difficulty dealing with death and realized there were no adequate resources for comforting grieving children. Bookstores carried very little, if any books that related directly to children's grieving process and dealing with the emotion of loss. In response to this need, Dr. Westerfield wrote this story about losing a family dog - it is a true and personal story. The boxer in the story was her family pet, Moreover, who eventually succumbed to a cancerous tumor.

Dr. Jane Westerfield is the author of a series of books for children called Angel Messengers. Each book tells the story of how God and His angels help children cope with the emotional and physical challenges in their lives, such as the death of a beloved, divorce, serious illness, the death of a loved one and children with special needs. Dr. Westerfield hold's a bachelor's degree from Wesleyan college, Macon, Georgia, the Master's degree from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky and the Doctor of Arts degree from Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana. She currently resides in Clearwater, Florida where she serves as Editing Consultant for a publishing firm.
