A mysetrious killer terrorizes the Hyde Park neighborhood in the city of Chicago. The killer murders the civtims in carious ways and then takes a Polaroid snapshot of the victims' pose of death. Cook County Sheriff's Police officer Daniel Cotton, who works undercover carcotics, stumbles upon the first victim of the spree and beigns receiving teasing notes from the killer. Because of the killer's interest in Daniel Cotton, the FBI and Chicago Police ask his bosses to let him join a special task force that has been established to catch the killer - who has been dubbed 'the Killer Bee'.

The 'Killer Bee' is amused by Daniel Cotton's involvement with the task force as they try to solve the murders. The killer begins toying with Daniel and his father, Lieutenant Stanley Cotton of the Chicago Police Department. Each new victim brings added enjoyment to the 'Killer Bee' as the FBI believe they are getting closer and closer to catching the killer.

The 'Killer Bee' then beings an unusal change of murder tactics that throws everyone for a loop and shatters thelife of Daniel Cotton and those close to him.

John E. Thompson was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago with intermittent years spent at the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa, and three years in and around Piscataway, New Jersey. His joy of writing led him to accept an early retirement package from the phone company to puruse his dream of becoming a novelist.
