A tiny village of flitting fairies and playful gnomes hidden in the forest is the perfect magical place to find fun, friends, and wonderful dreams.

About the Book

Shady Fern Valley is a story about fairies and gnomes living in a hidden village deep in the forest. During the day they play as they go about their work, teasing and chasing each other day and night. They have wonderful dreams at night about magical things and toys and tasty treats - and about the most colorful rainbows you can imagine. In the end, they're all very good friends and loving family, and teach us that memories of good times and family are, like gold and gems from the forest, to be treasured.

About the Author

Rick Handlin is a corporate pilot whose three children inspired this story from their diligent reading of fun bedtime stories. Rick wanted to write a bedtime story that would inspire children's imagination, while giving them a warm feeling about the togetherness of family each night before they went to sleep. Originally written in 2002, this book is dedicated to his children, and all children who can picture themselves flitting around in the forest with tiny fairies, and playing tricks with impish gnomes. At the end of a hard day of playing, though, it is the memories that each child has of his friends and family that will be treasured forever.
