Annie, herself, developed young-onset Parkinson's disease after the birth of her fourth child, when all of her children were under the age of ten. Her father and mother both had Parkinson's disease. Through years of observing her parents, Annie learned how they converted their daily struggle into a life of hope. Their modeling became the basis of A Gift, Silently Given. Annie holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Dayton, and a Masters degree (religion, culture and business ethics) from Harvard University.
