Descriptions of people met, places visited, life's issues and resolutions to problems as author moves from integrated north to segregated south.

About the Book

The book is descriptively written with dialogue and a few poems as the author survives multiple marriages, getting an education, testifying against a politician, a shooting, prejudices of race and class distinctions and raising three children as a single parent. The description of characters and their dialogue may remind some of the characters in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales.

About the Author

The author was born and raised in the Berkshire Hills of western Massachusetts. At age nineteen, the author experienced culture shock when moving form the integrated north to the segregated south of the United States with it's racial, class, and sexual biases.
