Moving away from a dysfunctional family to a dysfunctional world, Ayna unknowing created, can make any young girl wonder what is real in life and what is not.

About the Book

This short story moves through 4 years of a young girls' life. How she encounters and deals with life and its problems. How she grows from a naïve girl to a young woman, ready to embark in a world with different understanding than she had at 18.

Ayna is an 18-year-old high school graduate, from a small town, trying to start her life in a new place. However, in her search for this new life, she brings with her the very thing she wanted to leave behind. She is a naïve, self-starter who had built her emotional judgments on fantasies and make-believe, which she comes to realize, doesn't exist in the real world. She is forced to search her feelings for truths about, friendship, and just being herself. It is through these encounters, she learns about real life, not only from her younger sister Paige, but also through her devoted friends. Friends who supported her in the past and new acquaintances she meets on her journey. Her venture into the world is an adventure of trail and error, which helps her to see that the very thing she desires the most for herself has always been part of her life.
