When Kerwin the Ketchup Bottle's ketchup is all used up, the fun isn't over for he and his young friend Sam. Find out what happens in Kerwin the Ketchup Bottle!

About the Book
When Sam Hutchison was about three years old, he and his mom Jane had a game they played when he was in the bath. Sam would ask his mom to make up a story by giving her an idea to start the story. One evening, Sam picked up an empty ketchup bottle, filled it with water and squeezed it, making a "bloop, bloop, bloop" sound and asked, "Please tell me how this ketchup bottle became a bath toy!" The story of Kerwin the Ketchup Bottle started that night and was re-told over and over until friends of Sam's asked for it to be written down. Finally, Sam's talented "auntie" Charlene Duncan agreed to illustrate "Kerwin" and we hope other children and their parents will enjoy our story as much as we have.
About the Author
A diagnosis of Parkinson's disease at age 43 brought life's priorities into sharp focus for Jane Hutchison. The disease, which affects the brain's ability to send impulses to the body's nerves and muscles, is as yet incurable and Jane realized she could no longer keep her dreams bottled up inside. One of those dreams was to publish the story of Kerwin the Ketchup Bottle, a bath time story she made up 15 years earlier for her son Sam. The story tells of Kerwin, a friendly ketchup bottle who fears being discarded when he's emptied of his ketchup but instead finds new life as Sam's bath toy.
Just as Kerwin was recycled to find usefulness and happiness, Jane too is finding solace and energy in her "recycled" role as a children's' author. Partial proceeds from the sale of Kerwin the Ketchup Bottle shall be donated to the Pacific Parkinson's Research Institute at U.B.C. to hasten a cure.
