About the Book

Wolf is passionate about the Hook & Build ™ Building system that he has created. In this book he writes about this amazing new approach to assembling buildings and how it will change forever the way things work on a construction site- and to ensure that the buildings you design today are built to last! With an eye to ease of assembly as well as solid earthquake and weather resistance, the Hook & Build ™ Building System also introduces a significant change in the trade of house carpentry- by asking house builders to put away hammers and pick up a wrench! Based in Edmonton, Wolf is now traveling around the country to work with Architects and builders using his revolutionary system.

About the Author

From his days as an architectural student in his native Germany, Wolf Wilbert has distinguished himself as a futuristic thinker. His professors noted his bent for innovative design early on, resulting in his involvement in such ambitious projects as Expo 67 in Montreal, the 1972 Olympics at Munich and the first transit station to be built in Munich.

After graduating with a master's degree with honours, he soon went out on his own to follow his career path. He made himself know readily enough- his idea of including 11 merchandise elevators in the prestigious menswear store created a storm of interest- and after 30 years these elevators are still running.

Wolf moved to Canada in 1976, where he worked as a design architect for The City of Edmonton, before opening his own office four years later. His futuristic ideas never stopped, as shown by the Air Transit System he proposed to the city in 1986.

Soon after that he started to develop building structures similar to the IKEA method of building furniture. This ultimately led to his invention of the Hook & Build ™ system- for which he received the Industry Champion Award 2006 from the e Alberta Woodworks Association, part of the Canadian Wood Council.
