From The Saddle To The Moon In Less Than 100 Years

About the Book
A family divided by continents, spanning several decades, unfolds in the old west. This is a story about Vernon. An immigrant who leaves his native France to journey to America in search of family, land and gold.
Vernon soon discovers that America is deep in the perils of war, and he is pulled into a fight that is not his. Vernon leaves the civil war to continue his search. When Vernon finds his family, choices were made that would effect his entire family, and the future. The civil war had devastated eastern America, so they moved west to a promise of opportunity, land, and the lure of gold. The dream was not found in Arizona, so in desperation for survival, Vernon becomes a thief. He robs a large shipment from Jake and his band of Outlaws. Vernon gets caught by the law and ends up in a horrid prison. Jake, unaware of Vernon's fate, continues to search for him and his gold.
Eventually, with the help of a man named William, Vernon breaks out of prison, digs up his gold and builds a prosperous ranch and cattle business. Jake gets wind of Vernon's whereabouts and with the help of the Apaches, rustles Vernon's cattle and loots his ranch trying to get even for the gold.
Vernon's family finally finds him in America, and in the next saga, the search continues...
About the Authors
Cappy Perry: It took Joe "Cap" Perry Poirier 40 years to get this all together, with team work, with his wife Lee (Von) Perry Poirier, Co-author and finisher and his daughter Zina "Zee" Poirier Perry Davenport, Co-author. Thanks to (Mesa) Bill and Bert (Bill's lovely wife) Hull for their 100% support. They stuck with us through thick and thin, "mostly thin", like good team players do.
This book Search took work and the Grace of "God", and to God, my thanks and praise for it all. I thank God daily for in a little town in Maine, Madison, Maine. He gives 75% of the credit of hanging in there, and team work, working together, never self. Look at me attitude.
Work when you work, play when you play- but don't mix the two.

Zee Davenport: As a child I grew up traveling around this great country of ours. Seeing sights and hearing stories about the people in this book. The dream belongs to my father but the words belong to my mother and me. Together we came up with what you hold in your hands.
This took some fine-tuning and during that time, I raised my two children and met and married my husband James. I am continuing my writing of poetry, songs and books. Together we now live in the beautiful State of Arizona... until the next time.
Lee Von: I have been married to Joe "Cap" Perry Poirier for thirty-five years. In that time I have been to many places with him. He has told me many stories. That is why I know that the book search will be a hit.
I grew up in Butte, Montana, had a good childhood. It was a great mining town. But right now the mining is all gone. But it is a good town to be from.
We still travel a lot, so I can't say that I live in one place, we have many homes.
I want to thank God and my husband for the opportunity to write more books, without their support this could not be possible.
The other help that I got was from my daughter who co-Authored with me on this book. Without her this could not be possible.
Reviews
This is an individual and entertaining piece, featuring the classic themes of the genre transformed by the author's own flourishes and having a classic plot, one which has guts to it...
... This essential realism carries over into the body of the text itself. The writing is packed with action and drama; as in a good Hollywood epic...
... In short, this is a substantial read-conceived and energizing executed piece of work that offers a deeply satisfying read.
... It is certainly something which we would be happy to publish as a Minerva Press production volume.
