About the Author

Walter Lehner resides in Lincoln, Illinois where he was born nearly 90 years ago. As a youth he began his working career as a general cleanup boy for one of the nation's largest florist and eventually worked his way to department head. During WWII, the author served in the U.S. Navy and was an instructor in diesel mechanics. After the war he built and operated his own greenhouse and flower shop. Over the years, the author has experimented in most facets of plant production but it has been in the areas of soil modification and greenhouse energy conservation he has had greatest success. His work has resulted in several U.S. patents.
