I rose to the challenge Life had given me: to overcome the temptation of succumbing once again to a lifestyle, which had ultimately brought me to the brink of suicide.

About the Book
This memoir is the account of an extraordinary personal journey which began in a time of calamity and inner upheaval. It is, dare I say it, an inspiring tale of discovery and of wondrous renewal.
In essence, the narration is an emotionally and spiritually charged tale of a month-long quest for the key to my salvation - salvation from suffering the pain of decades of denial, dependency and addiction. It spans that thirty day period and shares in deepest detail my feelings, thoughts, realizations and the lessons I learned about my life.
Those lessons are illustrated not only through my experiences and dealings with various organizations and my relationships with the people I met along the way, but also, and more importantly, through the intense bouts of introspection and soul-searching evoked by those experiences.
The first chapter introduces the emotional, psychological and spiritual devastation which pervaded my soul at the beginning of my quest. The story thus begins at a turning point in my life at the age of forty-one; a point which signaled crisis, turmoil and the onset of changes which have had profound and far-reaching repercussions.
Convinced at the time of being devoid of all strength, and realizing that I was utterly alone on my quest, I was nevertheless to rise to the challenge Life had given me: to overcome the temptation of succumbing once again to the lifestyle which had ultimately brought me to the brink of suicide.
Come, embark with me upon this candid and intimate voyage into a world within.
