Experience Remembrance Day for the first time as seen through the eyes of Lou Lou. Lou Lou learns the meaning of this time-honoured traditional Canadian holiday via her grandfather.

About the Book

After volunteering in my children's elementary school library, it became apparent there are very few children's picture books depicting the time honored Canadian national holiday of Remembrance Day. This contemporary story examines the customs and traditions observed annually by Canadians through the eyes of young girl named Lou Lou.

Kim Rumbolt's beautiful illustrations capture the innocence of the story's characters and the essence of the celebration, as Lou Lou learns how her grandfather fought in the Korean War and the importance of commemorating all war veterans.

This children's picture book is written as a teaching tool for children to learn the history and traditions celebrated on Remembrance Day (the eleventh month, eleventh day at the eleventh hour).

About the Author and Illustrator

Wendy Lee Paquette resides with her family and her devoted 10-year-old husky, foot soldier "Chinook" in Notre-Dame-de-L'ile-Perrit, QC, Canada. Wendy Lee is an author, poet, lyricist and artist, having achieved a formal education in Office Systems Technology at Montreal's reputable "Mother House." Wendy Lee's goal is to continue to assist child educators through the medium of children's literature and fill the gaps in the today's libraries with contemporary and area topics for kids.

Kim Rumbolt's love of children's literature and interest in drawing and painting have inspired the illustrations in "A Parade to Remember". Kim has enjoyed a career in the filed of graphic arts for over 20 years. She lives with her husband and three children in Baie-d'Urfe, QC, Canada.
