About the Book
This extraordinary literary work reveals the complexities of lives of ordinary people. The tales are of successes and failures, hopes and dreams, love, deceit, betrayal and murder. In Discourse Irwin L. Hinds finds a forum to discuss what negatively impacts individuals of African descent and speculates on what can be done to alleviate the problems. One major concern is the under representation of black men in colleges in general, as compared to the representation in sports. The book chronicles the reunion of two friends, Oslo and Denny who seize every opportunity to discuss the problems. Further, Denny's romantic involvement with Claris, a former pupil of his resulted in an attempt on his life by Claris' husband, Prince, a renowned drug dealer. In that attempt, a bomb supposedly intended for Denny took the life of his father's best friend, Tejan. Prince was eventually killed in a helicopter crash and Denny and Claris became engaged to be married...
