From the establishment of the Kingdom of Dalriada, to the Lord of the Isles, and Clan MacDonald chief s beyond, this book comprehensively tracts the history of the Western Isles of Scotland through political intrigues, battles, invasions and murders.

About the Author

The author spent three years researching and writing the book, which started with a holiday to Scotland. The beauty of the scenery, the depth of its history and friendliness of the people, inspired him to research his own family history. This morphed into a comprehensive historical text on the principality of Clan Donald of Western Scotland and the Isles.

The author has written several historical articles for publications in Australia, with 'Clan Donald - Kings of One hundred Battles', being his debut attempt at a full-scale book.

It has been crafted with care, passion and historical accuracy, without losing the scale of brutality of the times. It is hoped it will be a valuable addition to the limited number of books published on this subject.

The author lives in Perth, Australia, and has studied at the University of Western Australia, Edith Cowan University and the Perth Technical College. He works in the telecommunications industry, and aged 40, has traveled widely through Australia, Asia, Britain, and North America. His interests include Aboriginal bush food, playing the guitar/music, hockey, motorbikes, gemstone Fossicking, and four wheel driving though the desert expanses of inland Australia. He tells us he is a confirmed bachelor, his pre-occupation with writing a history book not helping matters in this area.
