About the Author

Joy was born into a non-horsey family through her Irish grandfather had been a keen horseman. As a pony-mad child she was slow to read for herself so this book is skillfully prepared to help others with their reading. Both the content and layout are designed to stimulate their interest. After a short time at Hornsea College of Art she started working with many different kinds of horses and ponies and taught both riding and driving, making carriages and driving her specialty in both the theatre and the film industry.

Helping to make driving possible for people with disabilities has been one of her greatest pleasures and privileges.
