This book is the story of a beautiful international model who volunteered for one month at an orphanage in India, and learned the true meaning of love.
About the Book
The Forgotten Faces of India was written to enlighten all those interested in the daily life of Indian orphans. Jeanette Denkerova, an international model had a calling to help those less fortunate. She decided to volunteer at the Balagurukulam orphanage in Chennai. Quickly, Jeanette learned of the bureaucratic red-tape involved and the corruption that pervades volunteer programs abroad. Determined to fulfill her destiny, and in the midst of a tragic family health crisis, Jeanette boarded a plane to India and was transported into a totally different world.
India is a country unlike any other, and its people are totally amazing. Despite over-population, poverty and rampant disease, there is a deep abiding pride in the culture, traditions and history of this nation shared by all. Jeanette immersed herself with the locals, and spent the majority of her time at the orphanage caring for those in need. While giving of herself, she fell in love with one particular child named Subash. Subash had been rescued from a garbage dumpster and was being eaten alive by rats. Under the tender care of those working at the orphanage, he quickly recovered and gave Jeanette the greatest gift in life...pure unconditional love!
This story is about a journey that inspires and brings hope to those in the greatest of need. It is written to remind us never to forget those less fortunate.
