About the Author and Illustrator

Dodie Sparks, a retired Educator, has an extensive background working with children. She did her undergraduate and post graduate studies through the California State University System at San Jose State and Fresno State. Dodie's 27 year career in the California Public Schools included teaching, counseling and administrative positions - culminating in 17 years as a Guidance Specialist for grades Pre-School through High School. She and her husband also owned and operated a Private Pre-School and Day Care Center, with an enrollment of more than 150 children.

Dodie, and her husband, Duke, of 50 years, are retired and live in Sequim, Washington. They have three children and five grandchildren.

Spring ABC's is her first children's book.

Bob Thompson was born and raised in Long Beach, California. He is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles. After graduation he spent three years as a Naval Officer. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he returned to school, attending the Mayo Clinic. He entered into the field of Physical Therapy and had a private practice in Visalia, California.

After retirement, Bob and his wife, JoAnn, of 49 years, moved to Sequim, Washington where he became interested in oil painting. He has become an avid painter and art enthusiast. The Thompson's have two children and two granddaughters.

Spring ABC's marks his first venture into the world of book illustration.
