About the Author
The author is a first generation American whose parents spoke five languages each, routinely. It could be confusing. He grew up in a rural town on Long Island, N.Y. during world war II. He joined the army and college at Virginia Tech at the tender age of seventeen.
Afterwards, he started with economics and Wall Street,slipped through Law and the movie business and ended in Psychology. The father of cognitive therapy, Albert Ellis, was responsible. He was an early patient of his.
His psychology career began at the Veterans Administration and ended as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at The University of Southern California Medical School. He was involved in traing psychiatric residents,medical students and other behavioral professionals. He started the first labor union for psychologist, called Psychologists In Public Service. It is still part of the A.F.L.-C.I.O.
He is currently retired, married to his second wife of 36 years, has six children and grandchildren,and lives in California. He has been tracking this story since Marilyn's death.
