Come fly with a lonely boy on the magic carpet in his mind and watch his lonliness and sadness turn into excitement and adventure.

About the Book

A child's mind is open to all kinds of possibilities and he can build upon his experience by imagining what can be. This book explores the boundaries of the "real" world and suggests that anything is possible if we believe in our dreams. A little boy alone in his room feels abandoned until he remembers words his grandma said: "Happiness is in your head." What happens next is an amazing adventure which takes him to many unusual places.

About the Author and Illustrator

Nina Ieraci DiPaula has taught in the Commack Public Schools on Long Island for 29 years and served as English Department Chair in the junior high and subsequent middle school in that district for 20 years. She began writing in the summer of 1980 when she enrolled in the Long Island Writing Project. This experience changed her entire approach to personal writing as well as the teaching of the subject. She became a faciliator of ideas rather than a red pencil dictator of subjects and verbs. After her retirement from Commack, she taught two semesters at Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville, Florida, and upon her return to New York filled a position as English teach at St. Anthony's High School in South Huntington, Long Island which continued until her last retirement in 1999. She now resides in Coram, Long Island where she continues to write attempting to capture the whimsical nature of children.

Ed Ferris, born in Brooklyn N.Y has become a true visionary in the world of graphic arts. He led his team at the Mas-O-Neg Special Effects Studio through 50 years of exciting projects with the most renowned agencies, designers, publishers and art studios in New York City.
