Trees are trapped in a lot where they are to be sold. The trees all have different personalities and plans for escape.

About the Book
This book carries a message about conservation of our natural resources written in a style for children to relate.
Specifically, it is about Christmas trees locked in a lot where they are for sale. The trees all have definite personalities which leads them to think about how to escape and what to do thereafter. The trees' characters ranger from upper class to working class.
Other characters in the book are: Al; a business man who operates the lot. Bum; a friendly old basset hound who acts as Al's "watchdog" and two neighborhood children who stop by frequently to view the trees and visit with Bum.
Circumstances and error lead to the opportunity for the trees to escape. They leave and travel as a group, led my Bum, who shows them the poor side of town where families do not have the ability to buy Christmas trees. One by one each tree finds their ideal place to spend the holidays.
Al, the lot owner, is at first dismayed that his annual profits have run away. Later he makes a new plan which is better for the future pf the trees and the environment.
About the Author
Alan Jensen is a new author who has spent m ost of his life in high tech and business management. He has always loved children and has been able to relate to them. He also loves animation and fantasy.
He has authored many business related publications such as technical manuals and introduction to new ideas and technical advances. His creativity is illustrated in his more than 20 US patents he has has been awarded - mostly in the fields of computers. In the movie industry he also is the winner of two Academy awards for technical achievement.
He has served in several high level management positions such as: President Technicolor Audio Visual Systems and Consumer Products Div. President Panavision Electronics Div. and was co-founder and President of CEI Technology where he ws the winner of the Academy awards.
His goal in publishing Free the Trees is to provide a vehicle for children to better understand the need for conservation of our natural resources as well as have an enjoyable story.
