About the Book

Before Sofia could even walk she has held a fascination for books. As an infant, she used to leaf through them as if she were reading, stack them like blocks or simple reshelf them over and over again. One morning when Sofia was 5yrs old, she woke early at 4:00 A.M and roused her father. She told him about a dream she had and said she wanted to write a book. He instructed her to go back to bed, as he didn't know what to make of it at the moment. When she finally woke up at 6:00 A.M she said "daddy I want to write a book about manners", like she had in her dream. Her parents sat down with her and brain stormed with her as she drew the illustrations, bringing about the creation of "It begins at home".

This book was written and illustrated by Sofia Guichard, age 5. Sofia lives in California. For fun, Sofia likes taking care of dogs and Spot, riding bikes, and driving the truck with Spot.
