About the Book
Why do we humans do such stupid things when we know better? This book blames it on the Human Stupidity Imbalance defective gene which has been with us since Adam and Eve. It is the best way to explain why even the brightest people do dumb things. The areas covered in the book are business, consumers, crime, education, government, heads of state, health, minorities and war. Many examples are drawn from American and British history, but others are from a wide variety of other nations. The final chapter offers antidotes that will help the individual keep the gene dormant.
About the Author
George R. Lee is Professor of History Emeritus at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Missouri. He received his B.A. degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University, and his M.A. from the University of Oklahoma. Since then, he has done graduate work at other universities; from 1969-1970, he was a fellow at the Johns Hopkins University's Institute of Southern History. After six years in public school teaching, and a year at a junior college, he came to Culver-Stockton College in 1962, retiring in 1998. He has authored 22 other published books including three biographies, two college histories, and a number of books used by middle school teachers. He and his wife, Elaine, have been married 43 years, and have two sons and three grandchildren.
