by Joanna Present Wolfe; Illustrated by Joanna Present Wolfe

30 pages; Saddle stitched; catalogue #07-1669; ISBN 1-4251-4074-2; US$16.00, C$16.00, EUR10.93, £8.26

Leo, a small boy with wild yellow hair, discovers that his monochrome world is really a reflection of his own inner attitudes. He decides to create a different view.

About the Book

Leo, a small boy with wild yellow hair, feels trapped in his monochromatic yellow world. He dreams of escaping to a blue world, and he embarks on a quest to get there. The blue world is not to be discovered, but Leo meets a wise Lady who helps him learn an important lesson: What we see is really a reflection of our own inner attitudes. This new awareness empowers Leo to return home and change his life right there.

Current research highlights the connection between children's creativity and self-esteem. When Leo discovers his inner creative resources, he is finally able to be present, active and fulfilled in his life.

This is a book that all of us will need someday if not now.

Joanna currently works as a freelance writer/editor while mothering her daughter, Iris. With a degree in Fine Arts and Art History from Columbia University in New York, Joanna's background also includes teaching preschool and kindergarten. Reviews

"Great driving concept. Intriguing illustrations."

Tricycle Press

"This little boy reminds me of the Little Prince, alone on his planet out there somewhere. As a reader, you care for him right off the bat."

Tanja Alger, critic

"I love the message and the images that it brings both to parents and children. An instant classic! Let your imagination take off into and beyond Leo's world."

Penny Walter
Penny's Puppet Productions

"What a positive message to encourage new levels of enjoyment and understanding in one's life. It is different from so many other children's books: Instead of escaping through imagination, Leo becomes more involved in the world around him by using his intellect in combination with his creativity. I love it! And Ben loves it too. He calls it "Idden Raibow" and made me read it 4 times in a row tonight before bed. It's a hit! "
