About the Author

Michael N. Arterburn was born and raised in the Midwest. His only experience with pets as a young boy was being chased and bitten by dogs on his paper route in southern Indiana. His first experience with pets began when he helped his wife Judy open a pet sitting service in Southern California. Judy and Mike developed their business into the largest pet sitting service in the United States servicing pets in over 168 cities at it's peak. Michael was the founder and Executive Director of Pet Sitters USA, a national organization that provided assistance to pet sitting business owners throughout the country.

Michael is a veteran of the U.S. Naval Submarine Service and a graduate of Indiana University. Over his 60 plus years of living, this experienced entrepreneur has been a computer engineer, a fabrication specialist, a real estate broker, a teacher, a college administrator and has owned several small businesses including business and computer consulting services, private investigation and educational and tutoring services in addition to pet sitting.
