About the Book

Grace Fulton has written an exciting book about her families life in Zimbabwe (Rhodesia) Africa spanning over 100 years. Since the book has been published she has sold nearly 300 copies. She has received through phone calls, letters and e-mails wonderful feedbacks. This is a must read book!!

Grace's early life was traumatic with her father committing suicide whilst suffering from black water fever. Her mother, Maggie, left with very little money and six children for which to care had no option but to put them in an orphanage.

Fortunately life improved when her mother remarried and they all moved to a ranch.

Grace later met and married Willy Fulton, a great sportsman who won 2 bronze medals in the Empire Games for boxing. He was later awarded the M.B.E. by Queen Elizabeth for his service to sport and voted a Zimbabwe sportsman of the century in 1999-2000.

World War II saw Willie serving in Egypt, and then guarding the oil fields in Iraq. When Willy was de-mobbed, he started a successful sporting goods business. Grace and Willy met and hosted many sportspeople from all over the world, being involved in training and many sporting events, including at Kutama Mission where Robert Mugabe was educated.

Grace's story of her life during the various political changes in Zimbabwe, make for interesting reading. She now lives in Houston, Texas.



About the Author

Grace Fulton has written about her families life starting in 1897 when her Scottish Grandfather landed in Rhodesia. Her early life was very traumatic until she met and married famous amateur boxer, Willie Fulton, in 1934. He won a bronze medal in the first Empire Games in London and another in the Commonwealth Games in Sydney, Australia. For his contribution for sport and training inboxing and soccer he was awarded the Member of the Britsh Empire, by Queen Elizabeth of England. He was also awarded a Sportsman of the Century in Zimbabwe.this is a great honour as Zimbabwe has many famous sportsmen and women.

This is a very interesting book with many twists and turns
