Winston C. Toad is a nature fantasy book that highlights some interesting behavior of this toad. It is written in a playful, rhyming manner that younger children love to hear and parents love to read aloud.

About the Book
Winston C. Toad is a rhyming book that reveals a day in the life of an American Toad. It playfully explores his interesting eating habits. He can be seen around marshes and in your garden with his distinctive markings and his huge appetite for insects. When the children hear this story they will want to go out and sight their own toads and learn more about this interesting toad that lives in our natural world.
About the Author
Although this is my second published book I have been making and telling stories most of my life. As a teacher, and a businessperson, my life has centered around children. They maintain my interest and fire my imagination. Volunteer work with organizations such as Optimist International and with the Conservators of a local conservation area, has been my way primarily, to encourage children to learn about nature. In the past few years my little grandchildren have motivated me to write stories just for them. Winston C. Toad was written for my grandson, Kaden.
I first saw a great picture of an American Toad during a Photo Contest that I held for the Conservators of Cooper Marsh. It was an entry by Christopher Marlow. The toad's facial features, his stocky stance and his big eyes caught my attention. His "in your face" attitude gave me his name instantly. Winston Churchil… or Winston C. Toad. Winston C. graces my computer as a screen saver and is a daily reminder of the many inhabitants of the marsh around me.
