About the Author

A veteran teacher and a lover of trees, Nina Adkins-Heider has taught young children appreciation for trees as living essences, and for the many services they provide.

Walking in Hiller Park in Biloxi, Mississippi, (two years before Hurricane Katrina) her attention was drawn to a large capital A in tree trunks. Inspired by her find, she focused on and was led to all 26 letters of the alphabet in areas on the Mississippi Gulf Coast from Biloxi to Pass Christian. Katrina brought many losses including the destruction of over half of the "tree gifts." Desiring to share hope and to uplift, Mrs. Adkins-Heider was further inspired with positive messages - simple, yet powerful words, when deliberately chosen, lead us to our natural state of feeling good. It is a place we can return to in each new moment by focusing on what we want, finding positive aspects in all that we encounter, and always making the best of everything. It is the author's intention to empower readers of all ages with the awareness that feeling good is an individual choice and constantly available to those who choose it.

Nina Adkins-Heider resides in Biloxi, Mississippi, with her husband, Brook, and continues to be inspired daily by new messages in trees. They're everywhere!
