About the Author

I have always loved writing and creating stories since I can remember. When I was about seven or eight my mother started buying me illustrated hardcover journals that I proudly filled with whimsical adventures to say I was “published”. Escaping into these worlds often occupied my spare time to the extent my friends would come to play and I would turn them away because I was too deep in thought! That love continued through the years and I found it tot be an outlet for many hard times and turning points. Knowing I had this blank, white page in from of me that I could make colorful and two-dimensional was inspiring to me. In the fourth grade author Beverly Cleary came to speak at my elementary school and I was in awe. I can remember thinking how amazing it was that her words on paper could take people far away without having to actually physically move an inch. I always knew from that day on that I would write. I continued to create through the years, always preferring English classes to Math, Drama classes to Science. I entered a very dark period in my life when I was a senior in High School through age 20. I became gravely ill, dwindling down to 88 pounds at my lowest. It was then that writing was not only a passion, it was the only thing that sustained my soul. I was able to express my heart and hold tight a feeling of success through those times when my physical self was failing. When I made it through those days, I vowed to use writing to empower others as it empowered me. I finally proclaimed myself a writer in 1993 at age 21, when I transferred to the University of Santa Barbara California to major in English Literature. I was proud to enter their exclusive Fictional Writing Program and study courses that revolved around creative writing in 1995. When I graduated in 1995, I knew I wanted to write fiction but wanted a steady job. I signed to be a Flight Attendant for a reputable airline and continued to write. I became a Flight Attendant in 1996 and still enjoy the job today! Since I was hired with the amazing airline I have had small pieces published in greeting cards and medical journals. I have a job where I spend many hours meeting many personalities and characters form all around the world. I have created some of my best characters through this job! I have spent a lot of my down time in hotels, illustrating and creating stories. Madison maidenFaire, based on my daughters, has been a three-year project. I am so grateful for the gifts I have been given! It is my mission to give back to the soul of youth who are truly gifts that can become disheartened in a world that can be challenging. I was fortunate to recognize solace in my ability to write and express my innermost positive light in my darkest hours. It is a wish of mine to help others do the some-if only one! I chose Kiwanis house to begin charity work because it is a facility that has been working wonders! My grandfather has worked for Kiwanis has for many years and still is a major contributor. As a four year POW in WW2, my grandfather understood the importance of feeding the soul, as he had to do in his own captivity. I knew any cause that he was behind I could get behind too!
