About the Book

This novel,"The Untied Knot" is a Psychic Tale. It is initially set in the winter of 1944-45., during the Second World War.

A young airman, Ian McDonald, after completing his aircrew training, he is well into his first Tour of Missions with Bomber Command. It's then, while on their 23rd mission over Dresden, in the Firestorm Raid of February 1945, that his aircraft is shot down, leaving him as the only member of his crew of seven to successfully bale out and survive.

Taken prisoner, he is initially harshly interrogated by the local SS, before being sent to work for a day in the still smouldering ruins of the city he has just bombed. Searching for further survivors prior to his transit the following day to a POW camp.

It is there while sheltering amongst the ruins from yet another raid that he stumbles on the body of a dying German girl. An event that a gipsy back at his home base town of Grimsby had some weeks earlier as good as predicted would happen, while more remarkably the evidence there shows that out of the 850 aircraft on the raid it was most likely that bombs from his own aircraft were responsible for her injuries.

The story then being concerned with the prolonged outcome of that event over the following two years, until finally resolving itself during the summer of 1947.

About the Author

A retired teacher of mathematics and physics, now aged seventy-nine, I wrote all my novels between the years 1984-1990. I have written none since that time. All my books were Historical Romances if set against widely differing backgrounds.

I have already published the second one in order of writing,"A Gift of Time" (1985), and this one "The Untied Knot" was completed the previous year (1984)
