About the Book

Following a popular, if somewhat jaded, trend to pursue the good life in sunnier climes than can be found in the UK, my husband John and I eventually came to be the proud owners of a large and extremely beautiful piece of land in a river valley in Southern Spain. There, with three dogs, a cat and six parrots, (oh, and an awful lot of spiders) I live somewhere between a static caravan and a huge old barn as we battle perpetually - with the elements, the wildlife, the authorities and the natives - to build our dream home from a pile of old stones. My contact with friends and loved ones is mainly through my computer, and so has arisen a series of e-mails to let them all know that I am still alive and even kicking back - somehow, these have metamorphosed into this collection….



About the Author

Bored with life behind the desk in my accountancy and taxation practice office, and in fact with all of suburban life in Cheshire, this move was my bid for freedom and irresponsibility. And both have I found, in huge dollops…
