About the Book

"Alice and Rosie say the words, say the words that must be heard...". And so begins a brand new children's adventure, a journey through time and a meeting with destiny. Meet Alice and Rosie, 2 very ordinary young girls with a touch of magic, who one day discover that just by playing together, they can travel through time. In this story, they leave their best friend Tim and his pet dog, Puppy Love, behind, before setting off 400 years into the past, where they arrive in an old town that hides a secret!

Alice and Rosie are taken in by Lydia, a beautiful young woman , who begins to tell the girls the story of Lord King Bag-Eye, the ruler of this town and the occupier of the strange but beautiful old castle on the hill. But before she can finish, Alice and Rosie are whisked away by a bear like creature, flying high through the sky toward the castle, where their adventure continues, and really begins!

Will the girls be kept prisoner inside the castle?
Would they be able to get away and return to their own time?
Will they ever see Tim and Puppy Love again?
And who, or what, are the mysterious bear-like creatures known as the Grumms?

About the Author

Paul Blake was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland, 41 years ago . Paul has worked most of his life in the airline business and has been writing children's fiction for 2 years now. The idea for this story, Alice and Rosie, first surfaced about 5 years ago, when Paul moved from Dublin to Bettystown , County Meath, with his wife Noeleen and children, Verity and Elliott.

Verity originally started drawing cartoon characters when she was just 7 years old. She named her first 2 characters Alice and Rosie. Paul had started doing some work on a story to accompany his daughter's first drawings, but like a lot of projects, it was put to one side for a further 3 years.

It was early in 2006 that Paul found Verity's 3 year old drawings and the story he had started writing, packed away in a corner of the attic in the house. Paul knew then that he had to finish the story of the 2 time travelling adventurers, originally drawn by Verity.

The illustrations that you see in the book were drawn by Toby Mikle, TMCreations, in America.

Toby and Paul struck up an excellent creative relationship from the beginning, albeit from long distance!

Paul has also written a title song to accompany the book, and the vision Paul possesses for the long term future, is that Alice and Rosie Mysteries eventually becomes an animated children's television series.

Paul is currently working on the follow-up to 'Alice and Rosie Mysteries'. 'The Adventures of Tim and Puppy Love' is currently in production, and will be available early in the new year.
