About the Book

This book will inspire teachers, parents, counselors and especially kids! Michael's story unfolds with a new hurdle and difficult situation in each chapter. Told through this brave 12yr olds eyes, each problem and embarrassing tic is dealt with in his own original way, with excuses and humor. The reader will have a better understanding of what young children go through with the on-set of involuntary body movements, also known as tic's. Children with Tourette Syndrome (TS) or other disorders will be able to identify with Michael's struggles and challenges with his classmates and teachers. It informs and engages the reader on facing dilemmas one step at a time. It will increase awareness of TS and gain respect for children that face TS and other problems that are bigger than dinosaurs! About the Author

The author was born in Cleveland, Ohio and presently resides in the Tidewater region Virginia. He wrote the book when he realized he could touch many lives through his story telling. McCall was diagnosed with TS around age 10 however had the pre-stage signs dating back to when he was 3 years old. He has first hand experience on what kids encounter before and after the diagnosis. He works as support group co-leader in Virginia and started the first support group in the Ft Walton Beach, Florida area. He works directly with adults and children with TS.

The author sits on the Board of Directors for the Tourette Syndrome Association (TSA) of Greater Washington chapter and also volunteers at the National level. He received training for the National Speaker's Bureau in 2007 for speaking to communities and groups on TS. He is a firm believer in education advocacy. He has spoken at schools of children with TS and made a big difference at how the students and teachers view the child. A story about his testimony has been published in the Virginia Beach Beacon Newspaper, National TSA 'Family Portrait', MIX magazine, and honoured as Hampton Roads Top 40 Under 40 young business leaders in Hampton Roads.

McCall is a licensed Minister and works with youth all over the world as the Co-Director of an International College Preparation Program. He currently is a graduate student at the College of William and Mary pursuing a Masters in Education.
