About the Book
This story is based on a real dog and he is our dog Pongo. Pongo looks like a miniature lion. That is his name - Pongo, the lion dog. Pongo is a crossbreed between a Pug and a Pekingese. In our home we call him the lion boy. He is a little dog who brings a big smile on everybody's face. He has great courage and wisdom. Pongo likes to bring friends together. Truly, in real life, Pongo was hurt outside while he was playing. We took him to the animal hospital. He had an operation on his back. His doctor said that there was a chance he might not be able to walk. I said with determination he will walk better than before. When Pongo came home, all of us took excellent care of him. After two weeks, Pongo started walking little by little. We all started smiling again because Pongo is considered one of the family. Then one day I was watching Pongo and I took a pen and paper and started to write from my heart this beautiful story about him. Basically, the story is about Pongo's courage, loyalty, honesty, and kindness to his friends. He is the peacemaker and true friend anyone would wish to have. He was not afraid of the big, mean dog. Pongo talked to the big dog and did not run away. Pongo showed the big dog that talking and kindness are better than fighting and hurting one another. Also, by faith things in life always will be better.
