About the Author
I was born and educated in Mill Hill, North West London and grew up with my parents and older sister Sharon.
From an early age I had a keen interest in art. Following successful exam results in art at school it was clear what route my career should take. Subsequently I went on to college and achieved a distinction in art and design. This then enabled me to study at Surrey University where I obtained a 2-1 degree in Graphic design. It was there that I realised my strongest skills were in illustrative design for books.
Whilst at university I started working part time in a creative café where people can paint ceramic items. I got to work with children as a workshop teacher and by running the kids parties.
After doing the illustrations for a friend's book I realised that I could write my own children's books and illustrate accordingly. Having read my book and shown the illustrations to my young cousins, the response was very rewarding leaving them wanting more adventures with Jahari the giraffe.
I have really enjoyed working on this book and I hope it gives the children the same joy it's given me.
