About the Book

A story of poverty, corruption and death threats.

This is the journal of Mary Meadows; her trip to Kenya with husband Ralph and son Alan. They travelled to Kenya to support a sponsorship project. They were there for only three weeks but in that time witnessed the day to day struggle that the people of that remote area faced.

They worked hard in the extreme heat, battling to photograph the hundreds of children that gathered each day. Some having walked for hours to reach them.

In the final week the nightmare of corruption began to be apparent. They faced a war of devastating discovery and a battle to stay ahead of the game. It was only through prayer and God's intervention that they escaped the plans that the Pastor and his followers had lined up for them. Their final night in Kenya was spent in hiding. Based on true events that happened during the anti-corruption trials in Kenya.

About the Author

Irene was born in Yorkshire but now lives in Lancashire. She has been involved in many adventurous events in the name of charity, from abseiling and parachuting to rock climbing and recently travelling to one of the remotest areas of Kenya. It was this visit to Kenya that turned her world around. She decided to write about the poverty she experienced there. This was the beginning of her new career as an author.

She worked for many years as a manager within the field of adult learning disabilities and also qualified as a trainer. Her passion within her work was facilitating life changing plans for people. She felt that the same plans could be used to help the third world. This has indeed happened and is ongoing. The project she and her husband, Michael, set up provides funding for children's school fees, giving them the education they are so hungry for.

Irene now visits schools and churches sharing her experiences about the appeal and also providing workshops for creative writing.

Sales of Three White Foxes: The Journal of Mary Meadows' and her children's book 'a game of hide and seek' will go to funding the appeal's expenses.
