About the Author
Detective Inspector Frank Stone worked for the Metropolitan Police Department's "Specialist Crime Directorate" (SCD) after being promoted from the Flying Squad, his arrogant and sometimes bullish tactics got him into serious trouble with the top brass. This is the story of one of England's finest criminal hunters, who without doubt was a born natural at tracking down major villains and their henchmen… "Frankie" as he was known to a handful of close friends was a tall good-looking guy who worked out regularly at his local gym. His chiselled sharp features and stylish dark hair made him an instant hit with the opposite sex. However, Frank Stone was a complex soul and extremely pensive by nature, never showing feelings and constantly wearing a poker face. So, as you can imagine he was extremely hard to get to know, but boy was he good or what, he could smell a villain a mile away. He has solved more crimes single-handed than any other officer on the force, and every department sought his advice, from the vice squad to the fraud squad. His instincts and gut feelings would normally pay huge dividends and would uncover what most Detectives regarded as lost causes. The only flaw in Frank's make-up was his stubborn and somewhat belligerent attitude towards the criminal fraternity and his superiors, unfortunately this made him many enemies both within the criminal under-world and at top level in the Police Force. Frank, on many occasions during his twenty five years on the force, received more reprimands and disciplinary action against him than any other officer on the force. Being suspended on no less than three occasions, for "not following orders" and "not following the rule book" along with assaulting a villain whilst in custody, twice!!
The only thing he believed in was Frank Stone!! And what he could see and feel. Everything else didn't matter or didn't exist and no-one, and I mean no-one, could convince him otherwise. However, a certain turn of events were going to shake his beliefs right down to the very core of his soul… not even his boss could change his attitude. If it weren't for the fact that Frank was a damn good Copper he would most certainly be without a job…
