About the Book
Teenager Josie Gonzales is viciously raped and impregnated by an uncle in the Northern Philippines, and is taken to Manila by her mother out of embarrassment and for an abortion. She is placed under the tutelage of her auntie, Anna, who introduces her to the world of prostitution in an Ermita brothel. Through the next few years, Josie learns the “working girl” business and what men really want. After several negative experiences, she is determined to better her life with college and earn a law degree to help those less fortunate than herself.
About the Author
Joe Race is retired from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department and has completed tours of police assignments in several US states, Saipan, Kosovo and Bosnia. In his free time, Joe helps build houses for impoverished people through Habitat for Humanity in the Philippines and Botswana, Africa. He recently spent a month in Spain teaching English to Spanish executives who were transferring to the US for their Spanish companies.
This is Joe's fifth novel. He lives on beautiful Saipan with his family.
