by Cecilia Tanner
164 pages; quality trade paperback (softcover); catalogue #08-0555; ISBN 1-4251-7726-3; US$17.00, C$17.00, EUR11.61, £8.78
Our patriarchal societies are not working, and Cordite & Testosterone is an investigation into the contribution of irresponsible men as the core problem of these dysfunctional societies.

About the Book
Cordite & Testosterone explores the core problems in the world and concludes that male excesses and irresponsible male behavior are the primary contributors to the greed and corruption in every country. Men have awesome abilities to resolve problems and think the big vision, Yes. But they also have world-destroying weaknesses, (greed, lust, and all the other 7 deadlies) and without the will to control those destructive forces then the dysfunction continues.
Clive James, the well known cultural critic, stated, "It would be a better world if women were running it." (Bill Moyer's Journal, PBS). He sees barbarism just below the surface of civilization, "Terrorism has shot a lot of holes in civilization. James believes women are better guardians of civilization because, "Women see more of reality, they are better anchored; men are more into their fantasies." Yes. Who can argue with that? Cordite & Testosterone investigates these ideas.
