The Star’s Legend

Starrla Cray, staff writer for the Delano Herald-Journal.com, interviews teen Allison Schaust who recently became a Trafford-published author with her debut novel, The Star’s Legend. The Delano Middle School seventh-grader adds that she enjoyed the creative and publishing processes, saying that Trafford Publishing, “treated me very well.” Allison is already working on several story ideas, including a sequel to The Star’s Legend.

Featured in the online magazine, star-telegram.com, this book was written by first-time author Candace Schneller in memory of Jayden Underwood, a little boy with an active imagination, who along with his mom and sister, was a victim of a brutal killing in 2005. The book tells the story of a 7-year-old boy who, when he opens the door to his room, enters a magical world filled with bagel-making birds, an energetic baby kangaroo, a unicorn sheriff and green dragons.
