About the Book

Grandpa Owl tells the story of Jesus to his two grand owls, Mikey and Amie. The story starts off with Grandpa Owl speaking as the forest animals gather around him. From there the animals pick up their own story. Herman, the Donkey, tells how he carries Jesus into Jerusalem; and Jessie, the Ant, tells of her watching the trial of Jesus in the courtroom. Alice, the Mouse, brings her children into the dungeon and watches Jesus being beaten. Mr. & Mrs. Bird is awakened by the noise of the crowd as they watch Jesus carry his cross down the road. George, the Gopher, tells how he remembered that terrible day when three men were being crucified, and Mary, the Ground Hog, cried when she saw Jesus hanging on the cross. The story concludes with Grandpa Owl giving an invitation of salvation to all the animals. At the end of the book is a place for the children to say a prayer and give their hearts to Jesus.
