THERE IS A CHOSEN GENERATION – a generation of the righteous – a generation that will seek after the Lord and desire to look upon His face (1 Peter 2:8 – 9; Psalm 14:5; 24:6). But in every generation, even in the righteous one, there must be leaders who will stand like lightning rods of faith – who are rooted in Christ’s own purity, faith, and integrity. These leaders will be fearless and know their God intimately! They will be men and women given to prayer and to the Word (Acts 6:4). These are those few who will have dared to allow God to set them aside for His Kingdom purposes and plans!
And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with Him an hundred forty and four thousand, having His Father's name written in their foreheads.
REVELATION 14:1
God is on the move! He is searching for Ending Day leaders. God is looking for those who will unreservedly serve Him even to the laying down of their lives. The mark of God upon their lives will be boldness to stand faithful to Christ even upon the pain of death. A boldness to willingly lay down their own wants and plans that His will might have the pre-eminence.
And they overcame the devil by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
REVELATION 12:11
Then said Jesus unto His disciples, “If any man will come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”

God is looking for an intercessor through whom His glory can touch the world, and whose prayers will avail much.
And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.
EZEKIEL 22:30
The eye of the Lord is looking for the one who will dare believe in spite of the intense pressures and temptations of this life.
For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him.

The Lord is looking for one person that He may call and through whom He may complete all His will and counsel. The Lord is looking for one person through whom He can send revival! He is looking for one person through whom He may believe and release revival. He is looking for one person who will be the lightning rod of His glory and thereby impact and change the culture – and the nations!

Will you be the Moses or the David for this generation? Could it be there is an Elijah or Elisha waiting to be unveiled in your mirror?

John Hyde, the great apostle of prayer, gave his life in prayer for the masses of India. His desperate prayer, “Give me souls or I die” left a clear and eternal mark on that nation.
It only takes one!
Could there be a young Peter or John or maybe an aged Paul waiting within your heart to be unleashed from those inner fears or doubting of heart and be used of God to change the world? Could there be a John or Charles Wesley or a Charles Finney or another Rees Howells or Dwight Moody waiting to immerge from your home or church to impact the world for Christ?
It only takes one!
And I will restore your judges as at the first, and your counselors as at the beginning: afterward you shall be called, the city of righteousness, the faithful city.

If you will persevere in believing prayer you won’t be denied. If you will stand fast in faith all things will be made possible for you. If you will hold immovable the promise of God, victory will be yours. If you will remain faithful in your Christian life you will see with your eyes the faithfulness of the Lord.
Yes, yes, yes, a thousand times yes - the Lord will find His intercessors! He will not be denied by men’s inabilities or unpredictability. His eyes are looking, even now, throughout the earth to find those human vessels though whom He can do exploits and change the course of history. Will you be one of the faithful persons He finds?

About the Book
A Portrait of Intercession is a collection of articles, often prophetic in nature dealing with various aspects of intercession. Each chapter will at once challenge the believer to go not only the first mile with Jesus, but willingly and joyfully press on in true and vital fashion, overcoming faith to go the second mile with Him in prayer and intercession.
A Portrait of Intercession is a series of challenges, calling the believer to stretch out in believing and bold faith. It is a call to a more intense and intimate relationship with Jesus; to see His vision for the nations and to hear His heart for the peoples of the world.
Intercession is, of necessity, a hidden ministry. Its labors may be seen only by a few but it is recognized and welcomed at the Throne of Grace. It is possibly the most noble of ministries and surely the most noble of the various forms of prayer. Intercession willingly joins us with Jesus in His never-ending, ever-watchful prayer for His people. It is a selfless praying which readily enters into Christ’s sufferings; that is, our joining with Him in His divine laboring at the expense of our own wants and desires.
